July 12, 2021Reviewer: Beatrice in New York* Good option. Can be chewy if not heated up correctly. I still would recommend it.

January 08, 2020Reviewer: Yvette in Washington* These are pretty good not the real thing, but hey it's low carb and bread! I like to use them for sub sandwiches.
-
December 16, 2019Reviewer: Shelley in New Jersey* To me, these are more like sub rolls than actual hot dog buns. It’s a lot for a hot dog bun, denser. Not bad but I’d thought they’d be smaller, hot-dog-bun-like but they’re not. They also taste better heated.

May 28, 2019Reviewer: Rodney in Idaho* These are really filling. They are chewy and remind me of sour dough buns. Pricey.
-
August 06, 2018Reviewer: A customer in Arizona* I wouldn't call them a "hot-dog bun"...more like a bread-stick. I will continue to buy them because they are keto friendly and taste decent compared to other Low Carb breads I have tried.

June 02, 2018Reviewer: Jeremiah in Georgia* These are a great hotdog bun alternative, I recommend toasting them on the grill a little. They go great with Nathan's 1/4lb dogs. I only wish they were a little bigger and PRE-CUT!

March 21, 2018Reviewer: Jillian in Michigan* Was a nice treat. Reminded me of an unsalted soft pretzel texture and flavor.

I need them in my freezer!
-
August 28, 2017Reviewer: roxanne in Kansas* Of course not the same taste as a high carb bun, but close enough to enjoy being able to eat a "dog in a bun with some condiments"! Slightly chewier, but very acceptable! I will purchase again!

August 19, 2017Reviewer: A customer in Missouri* Generally speaking, diabetics like myself eat their sausages without bread or buns, but on occasion a traditional hot dog in a bun makes a good portable meal, especially when loaded Chicago style. For this reason I keep a package of these hot dog buns in the freezer, so one can be defrosted in the microwave and toasted in the toaster oven as the occasion arises. It's nice to have that option. They are fine for the job, though not quite as good as "real" ones, which is why I rate them four out of five.

July 06, 2017Reviewer: Deborah in Virginia* These hot dog buns filled the bill for our 4th of July cookout. You definitely need bun length hot dogs for these buns. I split down the middle and toasted with butter in a skillet. They are a bit chewy, like a bagel, but for 2 net carbs I'm not complaining. Netrition is the best!

May 07, 2017Reviewer: Marsha in New Mexico* These buns are excellent as a low carb alternative. They are soft but have a spongier, chewier texture. I like to lightly toast them. All the GLCB company products are good as long as they are understood to be substitutes and not exact replacements for the starchy high carb breads. Recommended!

3 of 3 people found the following review helpfulAugust 16, 2015Reviewer: A customer in Massachusetts* These hot dog buns were tasty. But, they tasted exactly like the Great Low Carb Bread Co.'s Hamburger Buns. Not a bad thing, per se. Same taste, different shape. But, the richness of the bread takes on a slightly different effect combined with a hot dog.
I think we're accustomed to those fluffy, light, airy hot dog buns of summers past, and these are not them. They are quite dense and filling, and can take away the taste of the hot dog more readily than the Hamburger Bun does for the burger.
That said, they were still enjoyable. I would reorder. But, one hot dog bun per meal is quite enough. These buns would probably be better served as a roll for a sausage, or shaved steak.

December 21, 2013Reviewer: Rita in Tennessee* I'm type 2 diabetic and have to eat low carb now. Never tried low carb bread before ordering this and the cinnamon bread. The buns are dense, chewy and spongy with flax seeds throughout but taste OK. Not the same as a regular hot dog bun but a good substitute for them. I also split one and used it to make a French bread pizza. It was excellent for this use and made a great individual pizza crust!
