January 24, 2019Reviewer: Norma in Arizona* Tastes very similar to Cream of Wheat cereal. Somewhat pricey, but a good breakfast change on a lower-carb diet. This review is specific to Hot Cereal, Original

January 24, 2019Reviewer: Karen in Nebraska* I buy the plain, it has no carbs after fiber, so it's a zero carb base to make a good cup of hot cereal. I add cream, sweetener, sometimes sugar free maple syrup and always a scoop of low carb granola for texture. I like "Ungranola by Bubba's Fine Foods". Diabetic Kitchen also has a great low carb granola and Netrition.com carries it. You don't need a lot. You can also add DaVinci syrup, butter, the possibilities are many. The end product after being "doctored up" to taste is very good. This alone made per directions isn't really palatable for most people, slimy texture, not much taste, but if you consider it as a base and add to it, it's worth the purchase. I love hot cereal and this works for me.This review is specific to Hot Cereal, Original

December 23, 2018Reviewer: April in California* This is tasty and there's nothing wrong with it, but I think it's kind of pointless. There's nothing special about the recipe, proportions or reparation — I recommend saving some money and just buying golden flax meal and chia seeds to mix together yourself.

October 28, 2018Reviewer: Teresa in New Jersey* The taste of this hot cereal is okay especially because you can add flavors like LC maple syrup, cinnamon, nuts, etc., however, I can’t get past the texture. I have tried hot water, unsweetened almond milk, and heavy cream, and it still is a gooey glob. Nothing like “oatmeal”.This review is specific to Hot Cereal, Original

May 08, 2018Reviewer: Sherrie in Ohio* I mix mine with water and whipping cream, then I add butter and splenda and they taste just like oats. It gives me a different breakfast from eating bars, all the time, so, I am happy. You definitely need to stir them well before putting them in the microwave.

March 17, 2018Reviewer: Bruce in Missouri* I think this is really a 3.5. I was thinking it'd be very, very bland. But it did have a bit of an oatmeal-y flavor. Just a hint. I added a tiny bit of splenda and some cream. Other than being a bit gloppy or goopy, take your pick, it was a pleasant surprise. I'll keep dialing in the splenda/cream and even the amount of water I used (3/4 of a cup plus) to get it just right. So......not bad for the first try. This review is specific to Hot Cereal, Original

March 02, 2018Reviewer: Margaret in Michigan* This is the best low carb cereal that I have ever had and by that I mean that it is highly palatable. The high flax content reminds me of Red River Cereal from Canada. I microwave it with 1.5 - 2 times the volume of water until hot. Good with vanilla Atkins shake, whipping cream or low carb milk and sweetener. Enjoy! A small serving of about 1/3 of a cup is very filling.
